We cultivate in the boundaries of Albatana, Ontur, Fuente Álamo, Tobarra. Hellín and Jumilla, whose D.O we belong to. We cover an area of 1400 hectares of vineyards, placed at among 650 to 700m above sea level with a continental climate of cold winters and extremely hot summers, where the rain is scarce and the land is predominantly made of sand and limestone with few organic material.

The Monastrell local variety is the most cultivated here because it is the one who resists the best to these environmental conditions. Monastrell vineyards, representing the 90% of the total production, produce small quantities of grapes per vine (from 1 to 1.5kg each) but its alcohol content is more than 13º Be. Syrah and Tempranillo varieties have also been planted during last years in those lands where drip irrigation is possible. The 5% of vineyards is made of Airén and Pedro Jiménez white varieties.

Red wines obtained are full-bodied, with purple red and violet tonalities, and an intense bouquet with reminds to the red fruits. White ones are fresh with fruits bouquet and taste.

Our vineyards have a 35% of vines with more than 30 years. These are ungrafted, which means that no graft has been used in its cultivation.
There we are one of the lucky areas where Phylloxera did not attack, thanks to the vast majority of sandy areas. There are notable differences between wine made from ungrafted Monastrell and the one obtained from grafted vines.
